Love the Lord your God

 

The past month I could not post on the blog because my laptop died on me. Thank God hubby managed to get it fixed, now we are back on yippee!!!! It was not only the laptop that died on me, but some of my plants died due to different reasons. It is sad to admit that I fall within the list of the reason some of my plants died. In the past two or three months, I have been looking forward to spring. I propagated sage, rosemary, and purchased parsley and basil seedlings in preparation for spring. The only plants remaining are the main Sage and Rosemary plant I took cuttings from, parsley, and two propagated sage plants. All the propagated rosemary plants died because of my brown thumb. The basil seedlings were all eaten by slugs.

Through the above, I learned that amid adversity, I keep going because I love my garden. I even spend and devout time to it because I love it. God said to me we spend time on things or people we love. You can never say you love God and not spend time with him. Most people treat God as an emergency number they dial when they are in trouble and need rescue. No one calls 10111 to check on the police, when we dial the number is because the is an emergency. Funny enough others even believe that do not disturb God with little matter because he is busy with serious things. 

Truth be told is that our heavenly father is not an emergency line. He is an ever-present help in times of trouble. But he is also a loving father who is always present regardless of the challenges. We do not love our loved ones only when we are in trouble, you would feel used if a person only contacted us because they are in trouble but walk far away from us when all things are going well. He will never leave you nor forsake you, God is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. He loved you so much that he gave his only begotten son so that His blood can redeem you back to Him, that he might have a relationship with you. Imagine after all His sacrifices and only be treated as an emergency line.

We invest our time in things and people we love, do the same with God if you love him, spend time with him. Mark 12 verse 30 commands that we love God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and all of our strength.
