Rejoice in your labour

 Two months ago I saw a post on Facebook, the person wanted to find out if we have people who spend too much time in their garden. People who enjoy being in the garden so much, they forget about their other responsibilities. If you know me then you know I smiled ear to ear because that sounded just like me. After prayer, my go-to place is the garden. I will spend the whole day there, taking care of my herbs and succulents.  

Sometimes just observing and learning life lessons, like the preacher in Ecclesiastes 7 verse 25, I apply my heart to know, to search and seek out wisdom and the reason of things, to know seasons, seeds, growth, and harvest. I could burn from the sun, be dirty from all the manure and soil, but I am happy. As I write this there is a huge smile on my face, that is how much I enjoy this.

In Ecclesiastes 3:22 it is said that “I perceived that nothing is better than that a man should rejoice in his works, for that is his heritage. In chapter 5 it says that it is God who gives people the ability to rejoice in their labour and it also says that it's a gift of God. Wow!!!!!!

Imagine such a beautiful gift, when you love what you do, work becomes play.  When you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life said, Mare Anthony. The bible says whatever your hand finds to do, do it with you might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going. Colossians 3 verse 23 says And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men. The latter is easy when you love what you do.

The truth is life has enough ups and downs, enough hurt and pain. If you wait for the world to offer you peace or joy, you might be in for a long wait. The book of John says the Spirit of God will lead us into all truth, He will teach us all things. Why don’t we ask him to help us find our gift or talent? To lead us today to the work that we will love doing, So that we can find the gift of God to rejoice in our labour. It makes life more interesting.
