Part 1: Love

We are constantly at war with the flesh, and sometimes what the flesh wants, is easier than what is required by the Spirit. It is easy to hate a person who hurt you, but it takes God's Spirit to love them despite the hurt. The bible says the love of God is poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we don't love with our capability, but we depend on the Holy Spirit.

Unforgiveness

Recently I found myself in a difficult situation. I got hurt by someone dear to me. I started thinking that this is the reason I prefer systems over people. The system does as instructed, and if you experience problems, you can troubleshoot and get to the bottom of the problem. Unfortunately, it is not so easy with people. God responded in a sweet and silent voice. The conversation went something like this:

God: Then you and I can not walk together. I am in the people business, was and will always be. I love my people.

Me: but your people can be very hurtful, I said with teary eyes.

God: John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon. The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of a tax collector.

Me: Sigh,

God: My love is poured into your hearts by the Holy Spirit, who was given to you. Romans 5:5 NKJV

God: I am not expecting you to love them with your flesh. You will exhaust yourself. They are the same species that made me wash out the whole world, lean on My Spirit.

Me: I repent, please forgive me, Lord. I love your people. It might not always be easy, but thank you for the Helper.

Love is a fruit of our communion with the Holy Spirit. When we live in the spirit, we must also walk in the spirit. In his presence, we can heal from our pain and love those who hurt us. It does not mean we need to befriend them, but we don't carry the pain around like the chicken licken craving. We can forgive them for sinning against us as our heavenly Father forgives us for sinning against him.

I speak of this because love sometimes will require you to forgive, “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, Matthew 5:43-44. Imagine a world where we all love each other. The entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

In the word of Franklin P Jones, let's love, and make the ride worthwhile.

Love you all
